SiteMinder, the world’s leading guest acquisition platform for the hotel industry, announced that it exceeded 100 million Australian dollars in global revenue. The company also shared its plan to continue focusing all its efforts on a growth strategy, which includes international expansion in search of new sources of income.
The goal of SiteMinder is to complement its Software as a Service (SaaS) model, which places it among the top 20 pioneering Australian companies in the technology sector.
Since its founding in Sydney back in 2006, and with the help of its creators Mike Ford and Mike Rogers – who currently serve as managing director and chief technical director, respectively – SiteMinder has become the leading cloud-based hotel distribution software in its category. The service offers services to international clients in more than 35,000 hotels and 160 countries, managing more than 87 million reservations per year.
The Future of SiteMinder
After becoming Airbnb‘s first hotel technology partner worldwide back in 2018, SiteMinder announced remarkable collaborations with Ryanair and Comair Travel. The company also introduced TrustYou, a company recognized for managing hotel reputation, on its SiteMinder Exchange platform.
After his company’s milestone, Mike Ford spoke of his plans for SiteMinder. “Today, our purpose remains to liberate hoteliers with technology that makes a world of difference, and our ambitions are as large as ever. I am excited about the opportunity ahead in cementing SiteMinder’s leadership position alongside an executive team that has walked this path.”
SiteMinder currently has several heavyweights in the industry, such as Xero’s former chief operations officer, Sankar Narayan. His goal as current chief executive officer is to find new sources of transactional revenue that will boost the 38 billion Australian dollars in hotel bookings flowing through the platform.
