Get ready for a singular cruise experience, one that takes you through the seas and also below them. Seabourn, the North America-based luxury cruise line, announced a new attraction for its upcoming ships: underwater tours.
Both the Seabourn Venture and Seaboard Pursuit vessels will each feature two custom U-Boat Worx Cruise Sub 7 battery-powered submersibles, inviting guests to experience the wonders of the deep along the farthest reaches of our planet. These mini subs will be operated several times a day in regions around the world where conditions are suitable.
“The undersea world is often considered as the last great frontier on Earth, with more than 80 percent of the underwater realm remaining unmapped, unobserved, and unexplored according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA),” said Robin West, vice president of Expedition Operations for Seabourn. “With these subs, we’re going to take our guests to places that few have ever seen firsthand, leaving them with a perspective on the world around us that is jaw-dropping and will create stories to last a lifetime.”
About the Seabourn Venture and its U-Boat Worx submersibles
Each Cruise Sub 7 will transport six guests, together with a pilot, through sunken shipwrecks, coral reefs and aquatic life habitats located up to 300 meters below sea level. Its design allows clear and undistorted views in practically all directions, with two rotating spheres to obtain the best sightlines. The submarine is equipped with 4K indoor and outdoor video cameras to capture both the wonders of the deep and how travelers react to them.
The cruise ships that will offer these submarine tours, the Seabourn Venture and its unnamed sister ship, will make their maiden voyages in June 2021 and May 2022, respectively. If you want to enjoy this experience, as well as all other benefits included in a luxury cruise, book your cabin today on the reservation page at Seabourn’s official website.
