Pack your magic wand and practice your spells, because a new Harry Potter experience has arrived in Germany. Harry Potter: Visions of Magic transports you to the more mysterious corners of the Wizarding World and “the boy who lived.”
This interactive art installation incorporates sets, props, lighting, sound and animated 3D projection mapping to replicate environments within the Potterverse. It officially openend this December 2023 at The Oddyseum museum in Cologne, Germany with the presence of James and Oliver Phelps, who played the Weasley twins in the films.
About Harry Potter: Visions of Magic
The exhibits within incorporate saga elements such as the Knight Bus, Daily Prophet covers, Knockturn Alley, Newt Scamander’s menagerie, the Black Lake, the Department of Mysteries, and several Hogwarts Castle areas. Visitors can initiate certain actions within these environments by using a magic wand they received at the entrance.
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Themed Entertainment, the brains behind this installation, are also responsible for the environments in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal theme parks. They have also developed other famous activations based on popular IP such as the FRIENDS Experience and the Game of Thrones studio tour.
This initiative is part of the growing trend of immersive experiences such as the live Cluedo game and exhibitions within AREA15 in Las Vegas.
