The city of Buenos Aires will receive the top representatives in the culinary world on October 10 for the VII Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards. The event is a spinoff of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants listing, one of the most prestigious rankings within the international gastronomy scene. The best restaurants in the region will all compete for a place in the Latin America list.

The Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards ceremony will feature famous chefs, media representatives and culinary luminaries from around the world. The event will be held at the Usina del Arte, an art space located at Agustín R. Caffarena 1, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA), Argentina.

Awards categories include the Sustainable Restaurant Award, the Chefs’ Choice Award, the Latin America’s Best Pastry Chef Award, and the Latin America’s Best Female Chef Award, among others.

Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants list is produced by William Reed Business Media, publisher of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants and Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants lists. This new list is based on the opinions and experiences of more than 250 experts from the restaurant industry in Latin America.

In addition to the awards ceremony, the schedule includes other activities where international chefs can interact with the best of local cuisine.

On October 9, chefs and guest journalists will participate in a welcoming dinner, a series of discussions on culinary leadership called #50BestTalks, as well as the Chefs’ Feast. The three-day event culminates with the awards ceremony on October 10.

William Reed Business Media organizes the event with help from the Buenos Aires Tourism Office and the Tourism Board of the Nation of Argentina.

“This event is a great opportunity for tourism in the city, as travelers often choose a destination for their cuisine and 50 Best brings the great references of the gastronomic world,” said Gonzalo Robredo, president of the Buenos Aires Tourism Office. “International chefs will find in Buenos Aires an offer of great value, which combines the best of our cuisine with that of many other latitudes that came with the different migrations,” he added.
