Barceló Hotel Group to Open 5-Star Resort in the UAE

Barceló Hotel Group announced the opening of its seventh hotel in the Middle East, in the United Arab Emirate (UAE) of Ras Al Khaimah, specifically on the island of Al Marjan. The group shared the news after signing an agreement with local construction company Marjan to build the property. This new 500-room hotel will open its doors during the third quarter of 2021 and will be an all-inclusive five-star resort.

“We are delighted to have signed the incorporation of our seventh hotel in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with Marjan. The island of Al Marjan is a very special destination that is becoming very popular within the luxury holiday segment, so opening a 5-star hotel there will allow us to complete our offer in the Middle East and also globally,” said Raúl González, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) at Barceló Hotel Group, during the signing of the agreement.

For his part, Abdullah Al Abdooli, CEO of Marjan, had this to say: “The signing of this management agreement constitutes a new milestone in the history of the island of Al Marjan, while enriching the hotel and complementary offer of the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Barceló Hotel Group is a company well known for the excellent quality of its products and services. This new hotel will further improve their offer for customers who decide to make a luxury getaway to the island of Al Marjan , either for reasons of leisure or business.”

Finally, Al Abdooli said they expect to work closely with Barceló Hotel Group in the project to finish and open the hotel, the name of which will be announced soon.

This new resort will include the products and services of an all-inclusive five-star hotel, such as a relaxation area on the beachfront; themed restaurants and lounge bar; pubs; meeting rooms; swimming pools and spas, and other facilities.
