Meliá, Iberostar, Barceló, Be Live, Riu, ROC, Evenia and VP Hoteles are all Spanish hotel chains confirmed to participate in the 23rd edition of MITM Americas, the pioneering, most influential meeting and event tourism fair in the Americas and the Caribbean. The event will be held at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba from October 14 to 17, 2019, the year that marks the 500th anniversary of the city of Havana, Cuba.
These Spanish businesses will be joined by other international hotel chains such as Accor, Louvre, Blue Diamond, Faranda, Gran Caribe, MGM Muthu, Four Points by Sheraton, and Cubanacan, among others.

Meliá, Iberostar, Barceló, Be Live, Riu, ROC, Evenia and VP Hoteles will represent Spain this important gathering on MICE tourism. Spanish hotel groups have more than 2,000 hotels in the world, a figure that has helped position five Spanish chains among the best on the planet (Meliá, NH, Riu, Barceló and Iberostar).
A 2018 ranking by the World Tourism Organization contains four Spanish hotel chains – Meliá, NH, Barceló, Riu – among the 50 largest in the world. These four are joined by Eurostars, H10 and Iberostar in the bottom 50, for a total of seven Spanish chains among the 100 biggest, based on total number of hotels.
